Music that's making me happy

As I was driving home from work, stuck in traffic as the Ballard Bridge was in the upward position anger filled my body. I wasn't going to make it to the bank. My fists tensed up and I really wanted to hit someone. Thankfully this next song came on the radio and I was soothed,

As I sat at my desk trying to come up with a big idea the next song reminded me that simplicity is always the best.

Because I know all of you enjoyed the previous video, here's another from The School.

The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle wasn't much of a movie. This song however proved that anyone could be a Sex Pistol.

We conclude tonight with Art Brut singing about something that makes extremely happy. Hint it's not chocolate milkshakes.

The saddest song ever written

Years ago I was going to tell this girl how I felt her. Before I could get the words out she told me that she was now seeing another. As I walked to my car. The tears freezing against my face on the cold December night. As I got into my car this song was playing on the radio. I felt that my life had suddenly become a John Cusak movie. I just wish it had a better soundtrack.

Some cool shizz

Tonight I have fallen in love with a new band. They're called Micachu and the Shapes and they've possessed me.

New from the Italians Do it Better label comes Desire. Hopefully they're will be an official video out soon.

The next band is called Alcoholic Faith Mission. I honestly don't know much about them. But their album haunts me (in a good kind of way).

Gameboy Gamegirl has put out one of my favorite party albums so far. While there is nothing redeeming about them, they are a lot of fun.

I really didn't care much for The Lightning Seeds when they released this album oh so many years ago. I heard this in my car earlier today and actually enjoyed it. Go figure.

A visit from 90's me.

Last night I spent another sleepless night. Unlike other nights where the only thing keeping me awake is my cat jumping over my head, last night I was haunted by the ghosts of 90's me. He was horrified to learn that our record and CD collection was destroyed in a flood and that I have strayed from our love of indy rock and don't go to rock shows every night of the week. I now I broke that promise myself to myself. But fuck, I broke a lot of promises to myself. As he sat on the floor sobbing, I wanted to tell him about all the great albums he would soon discover. But I know that he would have none of that. Back then it was all about records from Matador, Teenbeat, Simple Machines and scads of others. It was all about drinking PBR because it was cheap and not cool. And more importantly it was all about the rock. In salute to 90's me this edition is going to do just that.
